“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”
Psalm 37:25 (NIV)
The Faithfulness of God
There are benefits to getting older!
Yvonne and I have been walking with Jesus now for over 45 years, and just as David said, "I have never seen God’s children forsaken or going without”. I can testify to God’s goodness, faithfulness and to His amazing provision in our lives.
As we have journeyed through the different seasons of life, time and time again we have seen God's goodness and faithfulness in our lives.
At 19 years of age we began our journey of faith as well as starting a new building business. Over the next 6 years God was faithful and blessed our lives and business incredibly. In facing the challenges of a start up business, God always gave us the grace and favour and strategies to break through.
At 26 we handed the business over to family and left to pioneer the Gawler church. We wondered how God would provide for us in the future. We had many challenges and miraculous provisions along the way. God continued to be faithful. A strong congregation grew with a multimillion dollar building and land development completed.
At 42 we relocated to the Central Coast, again to the ‘Unknown', but trusting and knowing that God would continue to be faithful and provide.
Twenty three years later we have seen many miracles of provision, people’s lives totally transformed, the establishing of multisite churches, buildings built and restored, businesses built with amazing leaders and loving congregations, impacting and influencing many thousands of people.
As we emerge from COVID-19 again into the ‘Unknown', there may be a sense of starting over yet again.
I want to remind you as I remind myself that we serve a faithful God.
We may not know what the future holds, but we know the one who holds the future!
God is with you and God is for you. Whatever the future looks like, we know with certainty that our God is a good Father and a faithful God. As we keep our eyes fixed on Him, we know Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever!
So today, remember the faithfulness of God in your life!
With your families and gatherings this week, we encourage you to chat about today's #ImpactOnline message.
